Fratelli Ramazzotti, founded in 1815, has belonged to the Pernod Ricard spirits group since 1985. In 1996, the ever-expanding production in Milan was moved to Canelli in the province of Asti.
The traditional digestive owes its sweet-bitter note to a sophisticated herbal recipe prepared from 33 different herbs. Star anise, ginger and gentian root also contribute to its unique balanced taste. Therefore, it is not surprising that such carefree and fun-filled evenings sometimes take a little longer.

Ramazzotti Amaro is enjoyed today all over the world. The success story of the popular Italian herbal liqueur began in Milan in the early XNUMXth century.

Pharmacist Ausano Ramazzotti, aged 24, created a particularly mild herbal liqueur from various herbs and alcohol. He offered the bitters (in Italian: €žamaro€�) for sale in his shop. Amaro's special taste spread quickly and success was not long in coming.

Like traditional Italian herbal liqueur, Ramazzotti Amaro tastes the same today as it did then. The composition of 33 different herbs and spices, unchanged since 1815, is one of Italy's best kept secrets.

At this point we can only reveal that the recipe contains star anise, ginger, cardamom, myrrh, rhubarb, cinnamon, gentian root and Sicilian orange peel. We are also pleased to reveal that preservatives and artificial colors and flavors are constantly avoided in Ramazzotti production. Although the production has been modernized again and again, the individual work steps are still done manually today. For example, cleaning oranges, whose peel contributes to the unmistakable taste of Ramazzotti Amaro.

From the dosing of ingredients to the extraction of herbal aromas and the bottling of Ramazzotti Amaro, the production process is continuously monitored and repeatedly subjected to strict quality controls.€�
