Campari is an Italian appetizer obtained by infusing several types of fruits and herbs in alcohol and water. The assortment with unmistakable sweet-bitter taste is often used as an ingredient for cocktails. It is most often enjoyed in combination with lemon juice and mineral water.
The assortment was invented in 1860 by Gaspare Campari. In the original recipe, the drink was colored with carmine, but nowadays the ingredient is no longer used. Campari has a fascinating color, a special smell and a unique taste, which is why it is adored by millions of people around the world.
