Cointreau liqueur is the creation of Adolphe Cointreau, a confectioner inspired by the French Industrial Revolution, who decided to expand the family business with a range of liqueurs. He was soon joined by his brother Edouard-Jean Cointreau, and in 1857 the first recipe for the famous orange liqueur appeared in the distillery's documents.

In 1885, ƒƒ€ ‚¬„¢ƒ¢¢‚¬š¬€š°douard Cointreau managed to create a perfectly balanced liqueur, three times more concentrated and less sweet than those existing at the time. With this product, the Cointreau company became notable during the Belle ƒƒ€ ‚¬„¢ƒ¢¢‚¬š¬€š°poque. Starting with the 1920s, the company entered a period of maturity by popularizing the brand and exporting its products worldwide.

For decades, Cointreau distillers have used the same production techniques, passed down from generation to generation. For Cointreau expressions, oranges with intense aromas, from different varieties, are selected and ingredients are blended to give the final product a perfectly balanced taste. For the fine alcohol, the distillers use 19 copper stills, similar to those used by ƒƒ€ ‚¬„¢ƒ¢¢‚¬š¬€š°douard Cointreau more than a century ago.ƒƒ¢€š¬šƒ‚¬š€š
