Watermelon contains a number of nutrients, being rich in B-complex vitamins, necessary for energy production. Watermelon is a very good source of vitamin B6 and a good source of vitamin B1, magnesium and potassium. With a content of 6% sugar and vitamins A, B, E, K and C, watermelon also contains thiamine, calcium, iron, phosphorus, sodium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium and magnesium. In addition, melons contain citrulline, an amino acid that the body uses to produce another amino acid (arginine).
