At the time when the Roman Empire was ruled by emperors Maximian and Diocletian, in the city of Thessaloniki, the governor and his wife secretly baptized their son, Dumitru, in the Christian religion. They were times of persecution, and the teachings given to their son were not viewed with good eyes by the powerful of Rome. After his father's death, Dumitru was called by Maximian, who, impressed by his wisdom, made him voivode of Thessalonica. In the year 306, victorious in the war with the Scythians, Maximian stayed in the fortress of Dumitru, whom he had heard would have dedicated his life to the service of God. Dumitru was thrown into prison, where he met the young Christian Nestor.

Maximian's victories were celebrated with fights in the arena. The giant Vandal Lie, the emperor's favorite fighter, always wins. Full of zeal, Nestor asked Dumitru for his blessing. The disgraced voivode put the sign of the Cross on his forehead, giving him the power to overthrow Lie.
Nowadays, Saint Dumitru is also the protector of shepherds - it is said among the people that he controls the flocks for half a year, from the beginning of winter. It is celebrated on October 26.

Sfantul Dumitru is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which boldly develops notes of spices, prunes, chocolate and accents of berries, spices, vanilla and butter. Dense and velvety, with pleasant and elegant tannins, the wine has a friendly structure but also a depth that deepens you to the sensation of spice and wood. Its structure indicates that the wine has a good potential for evolution and aging.

It is a dry red wine from Romania, Mehedinti - Oprisor region, produced by Carl Reh Winery with an alcohol concentration of 14%. It is obtained from the grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot.

Tasting notes:
Taste: ample, generous with soft tannins.
Nose: intense aromas of cherries, prunes, chocolate.
Color: dark red with ruby ​​reflections.
Serving: We recommend serving the wine at a temperature of 16 - 18 degrees Celsius. Ideal with cheeses, red meat steaks or mushrooms and alongside traditional Romanian dishes.
